The Taiwan Lantern Festival has returned to Tainan after 16 years, coinciding with the city’s 400th anniversary. This renowned event, known for its captivating paper lanterns, is back in grand style.
To celebrate the Year of the Dragon in 2024, many lanterns at the festival beautifully depict this mythical creature, deeply significant in Chinese culture. The 2024 Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT) held at Fieramilanocity has concluded, offering important insights into the state of the tourism industry. A significant highlight is the resurgence of the sector in 2023, characterized by a notable increase in international visitors and revenue for Italy’s hospitality sector. A study commissioned by ENIT-Unioncamere to ISNART revealed that the average room occupancy rate reached 51%, showing a 3.8% increase compared to 2019, which was considered the peak year for Italian tourism. Additionally, international demand grew by 10% over 2019 and 7% over 2022, with foreign visitors spending an average of 68 Euros per person per day on Italian soil, reflecting a positive balance of 2.9% within a year.
