Centara Hotels & Resorts is back at ITB Berlin this week, showcasing its latest news and expansion plans to the travel trade. After celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, the company is focusing on sustainability and aims to be among the top 100 hotel operators globally by 2027.

With a current portfolio of 95 hotels in 12 countries, Centara has six brands, including Centara Reserve, Centara Grand, and COSI. Last year, it opened new properties like the Centara Grand Hotel Osaka in Japan and Centara Ayutthaya in Thailand.

In 2024, Centara will expand further with new openings such as COSI Vientiane Nam Phu in Laos and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives, part of The Atollia by Centara Hotels & Resorts. The company also plans to introduce its Centara Reserve luxury brand to more destinations in Asia.

Centara is committed to responsible development, aiming to eliminate single-use plastic by 2025 and achieve GSTC certification for all properties by the same year. They also aim for a 20% reduction in energy, waste, water, and greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and overall net-zero emissions by 2050.

Michael Henssler, Centara’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed his excitement about returning to ITB Berlin to meet with industry colleagues. The company looks forward to sharing updates on its developments in 2024. Visit Centara at ITB Berlin from 5th-7th March 2024 at Hall 26, Stand 223, or at the dedicated booths for Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai and Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa, Maldives.
