Thailand's Tourism

Thailand’s Tourism Authority (TAT) recently teamed up with various partners to spotlight the country’s tourism attractions and cultural strengths at exclusive events in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The collaboration aimed to showcase Thailand’s tourism offerings and soft powers to the Kazakhstani audience, as Kazakhstan emerges as a growing market for Thai tourism. The events, including the “Friends of Thailand Networking Day” and “Amazing Thailand: A Glimpse of the Land of Smiles,” sought to promote Thailand as a year-round destination. The initiative received support from Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Tourism and Sports, who highlighted the cooperation between TAT and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in promoting Thai tourism in Kazakhstan. The events featured a Thailand delegation, including key officials and local tourism operators, who presented cultural performances and tourism experiences to attract Kazakhstani travelers.

Thailand has experienced a notable increase in visitors from Kazakhstan, with 172,489 tourists recorded in 2023. The trend is expected to continue, especially among families and couples who prefer beach resort destinations. Improved air connectivity between the two countries has played a role in boosting tourism, with multiple flight options now available for travelers.
