Today, Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) shared insights from its 2024 event, revealing that deals between exhibitors and buyers are expected to surpass $330 million in the coming year, a 65% increase from 2023. This year’s AIME was the most significant in a decade, with 570 exhibitors, 595 hosted buyers, and 17,000 meetings held over two days. The 2024 event drew over 4,000 attendees, including 70 media representatives, and facilitated over 89,500 connections.

Subsequent analysis of the event has highlighted the following accomplishments:

  1. More than 90% of exhibitors expressed satisfaction with their participation in AIME, surpassing previous benchmarks and placing AIME in the top 10% of global trade shows.
  2. Similarly, over 90% of attendees reported satisfaction with their experience, elevating AIME to the elite tier of global trade shows for visitor contentment.
  3. Approximately half of the attendees were first-time visitors to AIME.
  4. Over 85% of attendees achieved their objectives for participating in the event.
  5. A significant majority of exhibitors, exceeding 90%, plan to return for next year’s event.
  6. The third edition of AIME 2024 was successfully organized by Event Director Silke Calder and her team at Talk2 Media and Events, operating under the auspices of the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB).

Calder said AIME 2024 cemented its position as the premier event for the international business events community in the region.

“The growth of AIME 2024 was just phenomenal, and we are thrilled that these post-show results confirm that success,” she said.

“AIME’s winning formula comes down to the unmatched lengths we go to vet our hosted buyers, together with the pre-qualified appointments exhibitors receive through our AI-powered meeting matching platform.

“AIME wouldn’t be the success it is without the great support of the global business events industry and, of course, our incredible sponsors who help us to deliver an outstanding event.

“So many of our exhibitors have reserved their space again for next year so they don’t miss out on the connection-building that AIME’s unique Australian flavour facilitates. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back for 2025.”

MCB CEO Julia Swanson said the results were a testament to the powerful platform AIME had become for the business events industry and for those who did business in the Asia Pacific region.

“AIME is committed to connecting top-tier buyers and exhibitors from across the globe and this year’s fantastic results solidifies AIME’s position as the go-to event in the APAC region,” she said.

“AIME and its host city Melbourne inspire connection and collaboration, driving commerce for both Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific. Kudos to event managers Talk2 Media and Events for delivering an exceptional 2024 event.”

The 31st edition of AIME in 2024 maintained its status as the premier tradeshow on the international business events calendar. This year saw a significant increase in global exhibitor participation, with a 63% rise compared to 2023. The tradeshow featured a diverse range of exhibitors, including Convention Bureaux, convention centers, hotels, resorts, unique venues, event technology firms, production and AV companies, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), airlines, cruise companies, and suppliers from Australia and worldwide. Countries such as Japan, New Zealand, Africa, Fiji, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Malta, Norway, Spain, the UK/Ireland, Vietnam, India, the Maldives, Monaco, and Sri Lanka were represented.

In 2024, AIME introduced “The Boutique,” a dedicated area for boutique experience creators, showcasing over 20 operators specializing in customizable and unique experiences. Additionally, the DMC Network zone was launched, bringing together Destination Management Companies from diverse global locations.

These innovations were well received by attendees and underscore the show’s commitment to annual enhancements and creative advancements on the exhibit floor.

The AIME Welcome Event was held at Grazeland under the ‘Neon Carnival’ theme, attracting over 1,700 attendees. Furthermore, the AIME education Knowledge Program, focusing on ‘The 4 Ps of Glocalisation,’ drew in more than 1,850 participants.
