SATTE 2024

Uzbekistan made a major impact at SATTE 2024, highlighting its efforts to strengthen tourism ties with India. Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev and Silk Road Director Ahror Valijdanov affirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepen collaboration with India, prioritizing the Indian market. The country saw a substantial increase in Indian visitor arrivals, with 45,000 recorded in 2023 compared to 15,000 in 2022.

Valijdanov, while addressing the media at SATTE 2024, highlighted the remarkable growth in tourist arrivals from India over the past year.

“The statistics speak for themselves – we are delighted to announce that the number of Indian tourists visiting Uzbekistan tripled in 2023 compared to the previous year,” he stated.

In 2023, Uzbekistan welcomed 45,000 Indian visitors, marking a remarkable 200% increase from the 15,000 arrivals in 2022.

Furthermore, the participation of H.E. Sardor Rustambaev in two key SATTE events, including the lamp lighting ceremony during the SATTE inauguration and his role as a speaker in a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Noor Ahmed Hamid, CEO, PATA, not only reinforced Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering cultural ties but also contributed to the broader dialogue on the future of international tourism.

This remarkable progress reflects the increasing interest of Indian travelers in discovering Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and scenic landscapes.

The participation of Uzbekistan’s delegation, led by high-ranking officials from the Embassy in India, including Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev, Counsellor Ikboljon O. Soliev, and First Secretary Sadriddin Suyarov, along with four members from the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee—Ahror Valijdanov, Inomjon Madrimov, Umarbek Esanmuradov, and Nuriddin Hasanov—aimed to establish partnerships with Indian travel industry stakeholders.

Furthermore, five prominent Destination Management Companies (DMCs) from Uzbekistan actively engaged in SATTE 2024, contributing to collaborative efforts to boost tourism between the two countries.

These DMCs, such as UZINTA (Uzbek-India Tourism Association), Blessed Travel, Enjoy Travel, TITF Team & Co, and Travel Together, played a pivotal role in showcasing Uzbekistan’s diverse attractions to the Indian travel industry.

As Uzbekistan continues to attract Indian tourists, both nations anticipate strengthening their tourism cooperation and fostering lasting connections between their people.
