Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat, Thailand, is preparing to host the International Horticultural Expo 2029, known as the Korat Expo 2029. This event, approved by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), is a significant achievement for Thailand. The expo is expected to attract between 2.6 to 4 million visitors worldwide.

Running from November 10, 2029, to February 28, 2030, the Korat Expo 2029 is themed “Nature and Greenery: Envisioning the Green Future.” It will showcase the latest horticultural advancements, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and the role of greenery in enhancing urban environments and quality of life. The expo will serve as a platform for international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the display of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices in horticulture.

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), a key organization supporting the bid, has played a crucial role in bringing this event to fruition. Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, expressed his enthusiasm for the Korat Expo 2029, highlighting the numerous benefits it is poised to bring to Thailand and beyond. “Korat Expo 2029 is primed to be a milestone event, driving substantial economic, social, and natural gains,” he stated. Mr. Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya emphasized that the expo aligns with AIPH’s mission to foster a thriving horticultural industry that not only enhances lives but also advances societies and sustains the planet for future generations.

The impact of the expo is expected to reach far beyond its duration, leaving a lasting legacy that will benefit the local community, the horticultural industry, and environmental conservation efforts. It aims to position Nakhon Ratchasima as a center for horticultural excellence and environmental stewardship, promoting sustainable development and green innovation in the region.

The success of this bid is a testament to the collaborative efforts of various organizations and stakeholders in Thailand, including the Horticultural Science Society of Thailand, Nakhonratchasima Chamber of Commerce, The Federation of Thai Industries – Nakhon Ratchasima Chapter, Tourism Council of Nakhon Ratchasima, Khao Yai Tourism Association, Nakhonratchasima Rajabhat University, and the private sector within the province. Their collective support underscores the national commitment to promoting green practices and environmental sustainability.

As the world anticipates the Korat Expo 2029, Thailand is ready to showcase its capabilities in hosting international events of such scale and significance. The expo not only offers an opportunity to highlight the country’s rich cultural heritage and hospitality but also its dedication to fostering a green and sustainable future. Through this event, Thailand aims to inspire global action towards environmental conservation and the sustainable development of urban and rural landscapes, reinforcing its position as a leader in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) travel sector and a champion of ecological stewardship.
