Aahar 2024

Australia is gearing up to make a significant impact at Aahar 2024, aiming to strengthen trade ties and meet the rising demand for high-quality agrifood products among India’s expanding middle class.

The Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA) has opened doors for deeper economic collaboration, with Australian premium food and beverage companies poised to benefit. Over 20 Australian brands will showcase their top-tier agrifood products at the Australian Pavilion, located in Hall No.1, Stand No.1G-02A, in partnership with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), New South Wales, and Victoria state governments.

This showcase is not just an exhibition but a demonstration of Australia’s dedication to quality and innovation in the agrifood sector. Products ranging from sheep meat, seafood, aquaculture, horticulture, grains, pulses, to premium health food products will be on display, highlighting Australia’s expertise in producing clean, green, and safe produce. This reputation positions the country as a hub for next-generation agriculture and food technologies.

In tandem with Aahar 2024, the Australian High Commissioner to India, HE Philip Green OAM, will host the ‘Taste the Wonders of Australia’ event at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi on March 7, 2024. This event aims to facilitate networking opportunities between Indian and Australian businesses, showcasing the culinary possibilities of Australian ingredients. The menu, curated by Indian celebrity Chef Saby, will feature Australian ingredients, celebrating the fusion of the two cuisines.

Partnerships with ANZ Bank, HCL Technologies, Linfox, HSBC Bank, and Qantas Airways, as well as contributions from Avocados Australia, Meat and Livestock Australia, Tassal, the Western Australian Government, Treasury Wine Estates, and Saint Andrews Beach Brewery, underscore the collaborative nature of these initiatives.

John Southwell, Trade and Investment Commissioner – South Asia at Austrade, highlighted the deepening bilateral ties between India and Australia, expressing optimism for the future. The integration of Australian products into Indian cuisine exemplifies the strengthening culinary and cultural exchange. Aahar 2024 offers attendees a unique opportunity to discover the best of Australian agrifood products, signaling a new era in Indo-Australian trade relations.
