Tonight, at the NRG Center, wine enthusiasts gathered for the prestigious Champion Wine Auction & Dinner, a highlight of the annual Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition. The event, known for its vibrant ambiance, celebrated the winners of the 2024 competition, creating an atmosphere crackling with excitement. Attendees witnessed the auctioning of exceptional award-winning wines, including the Grand Champion Best of Show and Reserve Grand Champion Best of Show, both of which surpassed previous auction records.

The Grand Champion Best of Show for 2024, the Beau Joie Brut Champagne AOC, NV, fetched an astounding $335,000, finding its new home with Laura & Matthew Hogue of Hogue Landscape Services, Andrea Bryant in memory of Bruce, Fidelis New Energy, and John M. Cotterell.The 2024 Reserve Grand Champion Best of Show, the Smith-Madrone Riesling from Spring Mountain District vintage 2018, was purchased for $225,000 by respected buyers such as Sire Spirits, J Alan Kent Development (represented by Julie & Alan Kent), and Andrea & Scott Fish, as well as Randa & Ray Gilliam.

The auction showcased a meticulously curated selection of 62 lots, comprising 471 wines, all of which had been distinguished through the rigorous Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition. Against the backdrop of an elegant seated 4-course white glove gala-style dinner, guests indulged in an exclusive experience at tables ranging from $9,000 to $25,000, fully immersed in the realm of fine wines.

Additionally, a silent auction added excitement and opportunities for attendees, enhancing the event’s allure with dynamic synergy. The Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition consistently attracts top wine producers worldwide, highlighting its discerning selection process. Among the 2,985 entries received, the United States, Italy, and Chile had the highest participation. Notably, 539 entries were from Texas wineries, while Chile, the featured region in 2024, contributed 161 entries, reflecting its rich winemaking heritage dating back to the 16th century.
