In 2024, Africa Travel Week celebrates a milestone 10th anniversary and has announced an impressive lineup for the forthcoming WTM Africa event, scheduled for April 7-12 in Cape Town. This year’s edition is set to foster growth and opportunities within the tourism industry, mirroring the current positive outlook. Led by Megan De Jager, Portfolio Director at RX Africa, the event is anticipated to break past records with an increase in exhibitor participation to 577 in 2023, up from 384 in 2022.

The agenda for this year is packed with both long-standing and novel activities. Notable features include festive-style events with wine tastings and live music, the launch of the Brain Box for engaging industry conversations, and the Sustainability Village promoting sustainable tourism practices. Additionally, the event is celebrating its ongoing partnership with the City of Cape Town and introducing a new venture with the Tourism Investment Forum Africa (TIFA).

Attendees can eagerly anticipate keynote addresses by Harold Goodwin, an inductee of the Global Travel Hall of Fame Academy, alongside the Responsible Tourism Conference and Awards.

The focus will also extend to broadening market reach, highlighted by a special program for Chinese buyers and a collaboration with the IGLTA Foundation for EQUAL Africa, catering to the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, strategic alliances with entities such as the Recycled Flip Flop Sculptures Studio, Southern Sun, Lift Airlines, and Gold Restaurant are designed to boost networking opportunities and guarantee a rewarding and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
