India is intensifying its efforts to attract German tourists in 2024, with the country’s tourism board promising immersive, authentic, and sustainable experiences to travelers from Europe and beyond.
“We want inbound tourism from Europe and Germany in particular, that’s why we’re here in the German capital,” the joint secretary of India’s Ministry of Tourism, M.R. Synrem, told Travel and Tour World at this year’s ITB congress in Berlin, adding that other attractive source markets included the US, Swiss and Global South.
Since the pandemic, German travel to India has struggled to recover. To attract new visitors, India’s tourism ministry has launched several initiatives. These efforts highlight India as a wedding destination and aim to create immersive travel experiences that provide a true glimpse into Indian life.
