Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) is preparing to showcase its latest developments, services, and facilities at ITB Berlin 2024, the premier international forum for the tourism and travel industry. This event brings together exhibitors, industry leaders, and experts. SAA’s focus will be on enhancing the airport experience through significant technological upgrades and a full-scale digital overhaul.

SAA’s presence at ITB Berlin is part of the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority’s efforts to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a leading tourist and economic hub. This includes establishing partnerships with top global companies and expanding the range of destinations accessible via Sharjah Airport. SAA’s participation aims to raise its international profile and establish connections with key figures in the global tourism and travel industries.

H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “During our participation at ITB Berlin 2024, we are committed to reviewing the Airport’s expansion plans, services, and facilities offered to customers. The exhibition has gained an increasing global significance, attracting a larger number of participants from 165 countries worldwide this year.”

His Excellency added: “This premier trade exhibition offers us a platform to showcase Sharjah Airport’s recent accomplishments over the past year, which played a crucial role in enhancing the Airport’s capacity to meet the increasing travel needs at Sharjah Airport. During the event, we will also highlight the improvements made in the infrastructure of digital services and the amenities offered to passengers.”

This year, the Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA), renowned for its comprehensive services such as airline bookings, tailored holiday packages, cruises, hotel bookings, and worldwide visa services, will be participating in ITB Berlin. As one of the UAE’s rapidly expanding travel agencies, SATA aims to enhance its interactions with international firms and explore new partnership opportunities at this global event.

SATA’s annual participation in ITB Berlin is a key component of its global strategy. This year’s participation is particularly significant with the launch of the passenger terminal expansion project and Sharjah Airport’s record-breaking performance, welcoming over 15.3 million passengers in 2023.
