ITB Berlin 2024 Champions Sustainability and Equality in Tourism
ITB Berlin leads the charge for sustainability in tourism, focusing on social equality and ecological responsibility at its 2024 event.Between March 5 and 7, the Responsible Tourism segment, an integral part of the ITB Berlin Convention, will motivate participants to adopt a more sustainable and inclusive approach to the tourism sector.
The Responsible Tourism segment, situated in Hall 4.1, serves as a pivotal international forum for discussions on sustainable tourism.Exhibitors such as Atmosfair, My Climate, and the Adventure Travel Trade Association will be present. This year, the ITB Berlin Sustainability Lounge powered by Mascontour will debut, offering a space for discussing sustainability trends and solutions.
Events at the ITB Lighthouse Stage in Hall 4.1 will include the 19th Green Business Forum for Tourism Professionals, which will concentrate on sustainable tourism standards. The ITB Berlin Convention will cover a wide range of topics, including science, technology, policy, and NGO perspectives on fostering a more equitable and responsible tourism industry.
Key sessions at the Convention include the Diversity & Inclusion Track, the Destination Track discussing ITB Berlin 2024 destination preparedness for social and ecological challenges, and the Responsible Tourism Track examining worldwide efforts toward climate action and sustainability.
The event also recognizes achievements in sustainability with the TO DO and Green Destinations Awards, honoring outstanding projects and initiatives in responsible tourism and human rights in tourism. Moreover, the Social Entrepreneurship in Tourism competition and the Celebrating Her Award will highlight the achievements of social enterprises and women who are making noteworthy contributions to the tourism sector.
