For over three decades, VisitEngland has been honoring the cream of England’s tourism industry through its esteemed Awards for Excellence. This year, 52 finalists, handpicked through a meticulous judging process by leading tourism experts, will vie for accolades across 16 key categories at the national awards ceremony in June.
The awards aim to spotlight remarkable achievements in quality, innovation, best practices, and outstanding customer service, celebrating the very best the tourism sector has to offer.
VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: “England’s tourism industry has good reason to celebrate. As the finalists demonstrate, businesses across every region provide outstanding customer service along with high quality experiences while constantly innovating to find new ways to give more to visitors and the communities they serve.
“The applications to this year’s awards and the list of finalists are a testament to the range of first-class products on offer to both domestic and international visitors. I congratulate all the finalists who are already winners, and I wish them the very best of luck.”
The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence feature a wide array of categories, including ‘B&B and Guest House of the Year,’ ‘Experience of the Year,’ ‘Camping, Glamping, and Holiday Park of the Year,’ and ‘Large and Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.’ In addition to the 16 primary categories, two special accolades will also be presented: the ‘Travel Content Award’ and the ‘Tourism Superstar Award.’
This year’s competition saw collaboration with 21 regional contests across England, with regional winners automatically earning a spot in the national awards. A total of 1,800 submissions were made for the 21 regional awards, and 360 applicants were chosen to participate in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. These businesses range from hotels and self-catering accommodations to B&Bs, glamping sites, visitor attractions, restaurants, pubs, and museums.
The national awards ceremony will be held at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on June 4, where Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners will be revealed during the prestigious black-tie event.
Tourism remains one of England’s largest and most significant industries, supporting more than 200,000 businesses, employing 2.6 million individuals, and contributing around £76 billion to the economy through domestic visitor spending.
