According to latest data on tourism reports, although outbound tourism keeps plummeting towards the bottom, domestic tourism is skyrocketing, generating all-time high tourism revenue.

The agent of Jordan Hotel Association, Hussein Hlalat confirms the above data, mentioning the unexpected uprise in hotel room occupancy, especially during Eid Al Adha.

On one hand the scale of outbound tourism is experiencing a steady decline; on the other hand, domestic tourism has steadily progressed towards a profitable upraise, says Basem Ghalayeni from Jordan Society for Travel Agents (JSTA).

He added that the rate of outbound tourism during Eid Al Adha holiday has reduced to an average of sixty to seventy percent, which considering the festive season, is a low count. Ghalayeni also mentioned the upcoming schedule of Tawjihi exams.

According to him, given the fact that a substantial number of students partake in the exam, hence students will be prioritizing the exams over travel.

On the brighter side, when it came to inbound tourism, places such as Petra, Wadi Rum and many others were able attract the attention of tourists and visitors, thereby adding a handsome value to the already
flourishing stats of inbound travel.
