TAP Air Portugal is strengthening Portugal’s internal travel network by introducing new direct flights between Faro and Funchal, scheduled to operate from June 2 to September 11. This seasonal route will offer travelers direct access between Faro and Funchal twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, providing an exciting new travel opportunity. The service will be operated with Embraer 190 aircraft, each accommodating up to 106 passengers.
A total of 30 flights are scheduled, offering 3,180 seats each way. The flight departing on Mondays will leave Funchal at 20:50, arriving in Faro at 22:30, while the Thursday service will depart Funchal at 06:10, with the return flight from Faro at 08:35.
Madeira’s Regional Secretary for Tourism, Eduardo Jesus, highlighted that this new connection represents a significant step in broadening the region’s accessibility, opening up fresh opportunities for travelers. TAP’s director, Mário Chaves, emphasized that the new route is more than a seasonal initiative, noting that both the airline and the Regional Government will closely monitor its performance to assess the feasibility of extending the service year-round.
