Spring has officially arrived, bringing with it the delightful sight of vibrant pink cherry blossoms starting to bloom at Fairmount Park. In celebration of this season’s beauty, the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) is thrilled to announce the return of the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th. The event will take place at both the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center and the Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center. This annual festival, dedicated to showcasing Japanese arts and culture, is made possible through the generous support of Subaru of America, Inc., the festival’s title sponsor.
While the celebration will continue throughout April, the highlight will be Sakura Weekend on April 5th and 6th. This two-day festival, which drew over 40,000 visitors in 2024, honors the beauty of the Japanese Sakura, the cherry blossoms that grace the streets of Philadelphia every spring.
With the cherry trees expected to reach peak bloom during the first week of April, the festival presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking Sakura under the stunning canopy of Fairmount Park’s cherry blossoms.
