Sri Lanka welcomed over 200 tourism professionals from more than 15 countries to the 54th Skål International Asia Congress, held from June 26 to 28, 2025, at the iconic Taj Samudra Colombo.
This prestigious event underscored the nation’s commitment to revitalizing its tourism sector and reaffirmed its position as a leading destination in Asia.

The congress brought together a diverse group of industry leaders, including hoteliers, aviation experts, and travel professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange. Discussions centered on key topics such as aviation recovery, digital transformation in tourism, and sustainable travel practices, aligning with Skål International’s mission to promote global friendship and ethical tourism.
Support from National Tourism Bodies
The event received strong backing from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, highlighting the government’s dedication to supporting the tourism industry.
