Brick‐a‐laide, South Australia’s biggest LEGO® event, will return to the Adelaide Convention Centre in March 2016 with a number of new large displays already under construction for the event.
Star Wars will feature strongly among the new displays as well as a 4-metre scale ship modelled on the World War II battlecruisers and manned by a crew of 50 LEGO® sailors, and a large collaborative display based on the original LEGO® space themes of the 1970s and 80s.
There will also be one of the largest LEGO® City displays ever seen in South Australia with visitors to Brick‐a‐laide able to view the streets from above and peer into the lives of its LEGO® residents. All the LEGO® exhibits at Brick‐a‐laide are owned and built by private collectors and fans and are showcased for the community to enjoy. Many are created by the Master Builders –people who build purely from their imagination without instructions.
Tickets to Brick‐a‐laide 2016 are on sale now.Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive Alec Gilbert said there will be plenty of surprises for children and families visiting Brick‐a‐laide next year.“LEGO® has universal appeal which last year resulted in 25,000 visitors streaming through the doors of the Centre on the Easter long weekend,” said Mr Gilbert.
“With tickets sold in session times, the staggered entry ensures visitors have plenty of time and space to enjoy the exhibits.” Other features of next year’s event include a creative space where LEGO® bricks of all shapes and sizes will be set up for LEGO® fans to create their own exhibits. Traders will also be on hand so visitors can purchase LEGO®.
