Salt Lake City will further establish its role as a major meetings destination by adding a new airport and a new convention center hotel.
The existing Salt Lake City International Airport will be redeveloped into the new airport and with $3.6 billion is the largest redevelopment.
It is expected that the phase one of airport is scheduled for completion in 2020 and the airport will be complete until 2024.
There will be more space and conveniences provided by the new airport with easy wayfinding and moving walkways, roomy gates with ample seating arrangements.
In 2022 the convention center hotel is scheduled to open into the southeast corner of the Salt Palace Convention Center. The 28-story property will have more than 700 guest rooms, , 62,000 square feet of meeting space and digital projection screens flanking the exterior of its lobby.
The organizers mentioned that the Salt Lake already offers meeting professionals an incredibly wide range of choices for their next convention, event or meeting.
Currently the city’s highlights are meetings venues like the Mountain America Expo Center, hotels like the Grand America Hotels and etc.
Salt Lake City is just 35 minutes from downtown, has four of the best mountain resorts and has several post-meeting recreation.
