Thailand has received the honor of being chosen as the host country for the 11th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific. Organized by the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and sponsored by the AIDS Society of Asia and the Pacific and UNAIDS, the prestigious event aims to enhance public awareness of the continued impact of HIV/AIDS and the need for incisive responses to the epidemic. The event is scheduled for November 18-22, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
The largest forum for discussion of HIV/AIDS issues held in the Asia-Pacific region, ICAAP11 will this year take “Asia-Pacific Reaching Triple Zero: Investing in Innovation” as its theme. The event represents a unique opportunity for over 4,000 delegates from 22 countries in Asia and the Pacific to share their best practices, strengthen advocacy networks, assess the HIV/AIDS situation and evaluate recent scientific and social developments in response to the epidemic. It will also identify innovative approaches to address regional challenges and guide future HIV/AIDS policy, program and investment direction. In addition, a variety of activities will be staged aimed at enhancing networking and the professional development of participants.
