Yesterday at Amity University, the much-hyped Punjab Tourism Summit and Travel Mart started off with a major inaugural ceremony in Mohali. This important event signifies a crucial moment in the journey of Punjab to become a first-rate global tourist hotspot in the coming days. It was scheduled from September 11 th till 13 th .
The day saw a huge gathering of well-known industry leaders, speakers, and tourism enthusiasts from both India as well as other countries. The inauguration of the summit was embellished by Mr S. Bhagwant Mann, the Honourable Chief Minister of Punjab, making it a breakthrough occasion for highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and its commitment to develop tourism.
The agenda of the day was crammed with informative sessions and talks, starting from the inaugural ceremony of Travel Mart. Mr. Anurag Verma, the Chief Secretary, Punjab, after providing a warm welcome to all the famous guests explained the main objective of the summit. He said that Rangla Punjab highlights the new beginning of an era in terms of tourism in Punjab, an idea of their Chief Minister.
He also added that Punjabis are known for hospitality, yet when it comes to hospitality sector, they are not best in the country. None of their cities is a wedding or a leisure destination.
