During autumn this year, two pharmacology conferences are taking place in Prague. Following ISoP, the European Society for Patient Adherence, COMpliance and Persistance Symposium (ESPACOMP 2015)beginson the 12th of November. It is held in Prague Congress Centre until the 14th of November, 2015. The main objective of the meeting is discussing the science concerned with the quantitative assessment of what patients do with medicines they have been prescribed.
As a non-profit association, ESPACOMP examines both the clinical and economic consequences of the differences between a caregiver´s prescriptions and the patient´s execution of those prescriptions.
ESPACOMP initiates facilitation of the translation of research into information that is useful for patients, healthcare providers and healthcare policy makers. An example of this in one of the topicsof this year conference, which deals with adherence to medicationfor HIV patients and thechallenges to monitoring adherence amonghigh-risk populations such as children and adolescents.
A yearly symposium is organised by ESPACOMP including practically oriented pre-conference workshops led by Sabina de Geest and Dyfrig Hughes, the top professionals in the field. The conference became the meeting place for an increasing number of international adherence researchers, pharmacoepidemiologists and statisticians and entices interesting industry individuals to participate. This year´s conference is upon invitation of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University with prof. Jiří Vlček as the Head of Local Organising Committee.
ESPACOMP 2015 is supported by C-IN services, which has delivered registration and accommodation of delegates and management of the social program of the event.
