Port Canaveral, the leading cruise port in Florida, has set a new milestone, welcoming 925,994 passengers in March 2025. This marks a remarkable 16% increase compared to the same month last year, further establishing the port as a key player in the cruise travel industry.
Looking ahead to Fiscal Year 2025, Port Canaveral is on track to surpass its previous annual records, with projections indicating 8.4 million passenger movements—up from 7.6 million the year before.
The port’s growth is driven by its strategic location, significant infrastructure investments, and a continuous focus on enhancing the guest experience. Port authorities have prioritized accessibility and seamless movement for travelers, ensuring it meets the growing demand for cruise services.
As part of its expansion plans, Port Canaveral is investing in major upgrades, including larger terminal spaces, upgraded parking facilities, and advanced technology to streamline the boarding process and minimize waiting times.
Currently, Port Canaveral is home to 16 ships from seven major cruise lines, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Disney, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), MSC Cruises, and Princess Cruises. These cruise lines collectively offer over 1,000 sailings per year, contributing to the port’s rise in popularity.
Looking forward, several exciting additions are slated to join Port Canaveral’s lineup. Norwegian Aqua is expected soon, with Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas following in August. By 2027, both Carnival Festivale and MSC’s World Atlantic will debut, further cementing the port’s status as a top destination in the global cruise market.
Port Canaveral’s increasing reputation as a leading homeport for state-of-the-art ships underscores the confidence that cruise lines have in the port’s ability to provide an outstanding experience for passengers. The port’s ongoing investments and growth strategies showcase its dedication to maintaining its competitive edge in the cruise industry.
With its robust infrastructure, commitment to superior service, and continuous expansion, Port Canaveral is set to remain one of the busiest and most sought-after cruise ports in the United States.
