P&O Cruises has announced the cancellation of a scheduled sailing aboard the Aurora due to delays in its refit process. The three-night voyage, originally set to depart from Southampton, England, on April 21, 2025, was to travel to Zeebrugge, Belgium, with a scenic day at sea in the North Sea.

Passengers were notified of the cancellation just one day before departure via email. The cruise line apologized for the inconvenience caused, acknowledging the frustration for those affected by the last-minute change.

As compensation, all impacted guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare, along with a 20% credit toward a future sailing, allowing them to rebook at their convenience.

The Aurora, which began service in 2000, is currently undergoing extensive upgrades as part of a major refit that was announced in March 2023. This overhaul includes cabin and public space improvements, following a similar refurbishment done to the Arcadia in late 2024. New furnishings have been added, including updated cabin chairs and new balcony seating, as well as enhancements to the open-deck areas to elevate the guest experience.

Although this sailing has been canceled, the Aurora is scheduled to resume service on April 24, 2025, with a 12-night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords, including stops in Gravdal, Trondheim, Olden, Andalsnes, Alesund, and Haugesund.

Looking ahead, the Aurora will continue to offer a range of year-round sailings from its UK homeport in 2025, with itineraries ranging from three to 30 nights. These will cover destinations across Northern Europe, Iceland, the Mediterranean, North America, the Caribbean, and beyond.
