The new Congress Plus at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”) is set to celebrate the 65th National Day of PRC on 1 October with an up-close and exceptional view of the festive fireworks and signature buffet extravaganza.
Diners will have access to an exclusive viewing area at the Golden Bauhinia Square, with panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour.
Managed by the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (“HML”), the 20,000 sq ft Congress Plus seats 300 people, and features a premier dining experience, offering epicureans in the city a memorable culinary journey.
The culinary journey on 1 October commences with a sumptuous Braised Abalone and Dried Seafood Soup Pot, which is made-to-order to each diner. This special dish will entice diners with its fresh flavours and luxury Chinese dried seafood, which includes abalone, fish maw, dried scallops, sea cucumber, Chinese mushrooms, and cordycep flowers of the highest quality. Each guest will also enjoy an additional special treat of Lobster and Bamboo Pith Pot.
Apart from the special interludes courtesy of the Chef, diners can enjoy an array of gourmet dishes especially created by the award-winning culinary team of Congress Plus. These new courses include Grilled Hida A5-grade Wagyu beef from Gifu, Red Dates and Bird’s Nest, and Pork Skewers made with the finest Iwate pork imported from Japan.
In addition, Congress Plus will showcase its signature buffet menu featuring the highest quality of organic ingredients, including a generous selection of sustainably sourced seafood such as black abalone, whelk, and snow crab leg, and an impressive display of fresh, organic, low carbon vegetables at the salad bar. Favorites such as the 36-month aged Iberico ham, the Signature Seafood Broth, and top quality nigiri sushi and sashimi will also be featured.
Live cooking stations continues to be a highlight for diners, with Congress Plus’ seasoned chefs showcasing Asian and Western cooking styles from India, China, and France, taking diners on a sensory journey around the world in one evening.
An impressive spread of 30 desserts are presented throughout several stations, including the liquid nitrogen treated Fruity Spheres made with organic fresh-fruit puree, a delicate tiramisu, and Beetroot Cake.
To celebrate the National Day, a special dessert menu featuring gold, red, and green apple specials will be introduced, highlighting the flavours of fresh golden apples from France, crisp red apples from Xinjiang, and tart green apples from Australia.
