Morocco Tourism Soars in Early 2025 with Four Million Visitors, Marking a 22% Year-on-Year Surge
Morocco’s tourism sector has launched into 2025 with extraordinary momentum, recording four million visitor arrivals by the end of March—a substantial 22% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This impressive growth cements the Kingdom’s position as one of the most dynamic and in-demand global travel destinations.
This surge is a direct result of Morocco’s bold strategic shift to promote itself as a “four-season destination”, an initiative unveiled earlier this year to extend tourism beyond traditional peak periods. The results are already evident: among the arrivals, 2.1 million are international travelers, while 1.9 million are Moroccans living abroad, highlighting both the Kingdom’s global draw and the strength of its diaspora tourism appeal.
March 2025 emerged as a record-setting month, welcoming nearly 1.4 million visitors, including a sharp 17% rise over the same month last year. The uptick coincided with Ramadan, showcasing Morocco’s growing ability to attract visitors during religious and cultural seasons—further underlining its adaptability and unique offerings.
This robust first quarter marks more than just a numeric milestone—it signals the resilience, reinvention, and upward trajectory of Morocco’s tourism ecosystem. The sector is rapidly evolving, embracing changing traveler expectations while strengthening its infrastructure, services, and destination diversity.
With a successful start to the year and continued global interest, Morocco is on track for a thriving 2025 tourism season. The Kingdom’s sustained growth reflects not only its natural and cultural richness but also its commitment to sustainable tourism development, year-round engagement, and long-term economic vitality.
As Morocco expands its offerings and deepens its global tourism footprint, it stands poised not just to recover—but to lead.
