Sluxia, the organisers of the Africa MICE Forums recently launched the MICE Connect Africa initiative, a day of virtual speed dating to re-discover and explore different MICE products from across Africa that is already or still open for business. The decision comes in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has largely disrupted the event and hospitality industry with a tonne of event cancellations, furloughing of staff and in some cases shutdowns.
The event would not just be a webinar but a complete event where meaningful connections will be made, relationships will be refreshed, opportunities will ignite and hopes will be restored. All participants would be allowed to re-discover and explore different MICE products still open for business, network one on one, and meet with preferred exhibitors in their virtual booths during the event.
Event Planners or Buyers can participate in meetings and event planners, communication agencies, venue finding companies, corporate and associations categories while MICE Suppliers can participate in discussions about MICE service providers like hotel groups, individual properties, DMCs, congress centres, special venues, technology suppliers, catering services, tourism and convention boards, and enablers.
MICE Connect Africa would allow participants to discover interesting MICE destinations and unique offerings as well as help them find new businesses worth months of product research and discovery. It might also help in raising a particular brand profile on the centre stage and directly during one-to-one sessions. It would also help participants network with high-quality buyers or suppliers from across the MICE industry.
