Marriott Bonvoy and Cathay Membership: Exclusive perks for elite members

Marriott International, Inc. expands its Marriott Bonvoy travel program by partnering with Cathay Membership, the loyalty scheme of Cathay. This collaboration offers eligible members exclusive perks through a special status match offer and a two-way conversion mechanism between Miles and Points. The alliance provides Marriott International access to Cathay’s 11 million members globally, offering them access to nearly 8,800 hotels and resorts worldwide across over 30 brands. Members can now enjoy benefits such as hotel stay redemption, points exchange, and enhanced flight and travel packages.

Smitton, Director of Customer Lifestyle at Cathay, announced new benefits from the collaboration:

Enhanced Points Exchange: Members can now convert Marriott Bonvoy Points to Cathay’s Asia Miles and vice versa. The exchange rate is 3 Marriott Bonvoy points to 1 Asia Mile, and 2 Asia Miles to 1 Marriott Bonvoy point. This allows members to use their Points for flight tickets, extra luggage, priority seating, and other Cathay Pacific travel experiences.
Special Promotion – Quick Status Elevation: For a limited time, members can fast-track their status. Gold, Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite Marriott Bonvoy members can quickly reach Cathay Silver or Gold status, and vice versa for Cathay Silver, Gold, and Diamond members to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status.
Special Promotion – Tier Matching: Members can align their Marriott Bonvoy and Cathay membership levels. Platinum, Titanium, or Ambassador Elite Marriott Bonvoy members will be matched to Cathay Silver, and Cathay Silver, Gold, and Diamond members will get Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, subject to availability.
