The “Your Playbook for Growth” event theme and Jim Tressel as the keynote speaker are among the planned highlights of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation (OTF) Conference & Show from December 3-5 at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center.
“We’ll have 120 companies and 225 booths — approximately the same as last year — and a ‘tailgate toss’ area with five sets of boards. The main stage will be very busy Wednesday afternoon with Jim Tressel,” said OTF Executive Director Brian Laurent.
Former Ohio State University Head Football Coach Jim Tressel will be speaking about “Teammates and Leaders” on the main stage at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4.
Education sessions will be offered December 3-5, with a new Lawn & Landscape Symposium on Wednesday, December 4.
Also new this year are the general pest management & recertification track, health care reform session and spray tech training.
The trade show will be open Tuesday, December 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a reception following until 5 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4.
More than 3,000 top researchers and turf industry professionals attended the event in 2012.
OTF was founded in 1960 as the Ohio Turfgrass Council to promote the turfgrass industry in Ohio through further study, research, education and policy recommendations.
“This is the largest regional gathering of turfgrass professionals in the country,” said SMG General Manager John Page.
