IndiGo Expands Financial Operations with New Office in GIFT City, Strengthening Its Aircraft Financing Capabilities

IndiGo is strengthening its financial infrastructure with the launch of a new, expanded office for its financing division, InterGlobe Aviation Financial Services IFSC Private Limited (GCE). in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. This expansion marks a pivotal step in the airline’s long-term growth strategy, establishing a stronger foothold in India’s rapidly developing global financial hub.

The newly inaugurated GCE office offers enhanced space and state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the company’s growing role in aircraft financing. As IndiGo continues to expand its domestic and international presence, GCE will play a crucial role in optimizing capital deployment and streamlining the management of aircraft acquisitions.

The opening ceremony was attended by top executives from IndiGo, including the CEO, CFO, and Chief of Fleet Acquisition and Financing. A traditional Puja was performed to celebrate the occasion, followed by discussions with global aircraft leasing representatives, highlighting GCE’s international connections and future ambitions.

Authorized by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on June 26, 2024, GCE began operations on July 15, 2024, marking its first aircraft financing deal—a new Airbus A320neo—on August 22, 2024. By March 31, 2025, GCE had successfully financed over 30 Airbus A320neo aircraft and several ATR aircraft, which have already been leased to IndiGo.

Looking ahead, GCE is set to become the cornerstone of IndiGo’s future fleet expansion, supporting the airline’s commitment to sustainable, cost-efficient growth and maintaining its leadership in the industry.

Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, remarked, “We are excited about our new office in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. This expansion aligns with the government’s vision of creating a world-class aircraft leasing and financing ecosystem. It strengthens our growth strategy and opens doors to new opportunities as we work with GIFT City stakeholders to meet the evolving travel needs of India.”
