Technology giant Google draws attention of the global MICE industry once again.
Google launched a video-conferencing tool designed to make it easier, simpler and less expensive to host business meetings even when the participants are placed in different locations around the world.
Google unveiled the video-conferencing tool on Thursday and named it Chromebox For Meetings.
It goes on sale from today for US$ 999 in the US and will be available in the coming weeks in New Zealand, Canada, U.K., Japan, Australia, Spain and France.
According to the latest reports the first Chromebox For Meetings to be available is made by Asus.
Google said it was partnering with Asus, Hewlett-Packard Co and Dell to offer a specialized version of its Chromebox PC that comes with videoconferencing gear, including a video camera and speakers.
No wonder why the global travel and business events industry is increasing its dependence on the technology giants Google with every passing day
This product will certainly put Google in competition against Cisco Systems Inc and Polycom Inc, which make the video conferencing systems used by many corporations.
