Not too many people know that first continental Elizabethan theatre was open in Gdansk. New Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre, designed by prof. Renato Rizi from Italy, will continue that tradition. Official opening is planned for the September 19th 2014.
Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre scene will accommodate up to 590 pax. There will be also terrace, walking path with beautifil view at Gdansk Main Town and open courtyard. Conference room will accommodate up to 70 pax and restaurant up to 120 pax. There will be also smaller actors club.
One of the biggest attraction will be opened roof. Its official presentation will be held at April 23rd 2014.
Cultural symbol of Gdansk
Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre will attract not artists from all over the world but it will be also an attractive place for meetings planners looking for a new venues for their events. Especially, that Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre is very open for the cooperation with local tourist (individual and business) tourism.
Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre is co-financed by the European Union.
It’s a cultural institution co-founded by Gdansk City Council, the Office of the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship and Theatrum Gedanense Foundation which conducts wide-scale activities in art and education. The institution is also the general contractor of the construction of GST headquarters. The main event organized by Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre is Shakespeare Festival held every year in Gdansk.
