Florida, Miami and Orlando Win the Hearts of Brazilian Travellers as US Tourism Surges in 2026

Florida

Florida, Miami and Orlando are attracting a major share of Brazilian travel to the United States in 2026, with Florida remaining the leading US destination for visitors from Brazil. The state welcomed 344,204 Brazilian visitors during the first quarter of 2026, according to preliminary VISIT FLORIDA data, keeping Brazil as Florida’s largest overseas source market. The figure also returned Brazilian visitation to approximately pre-pandemic levels.
The latest figures build on a strong 2025, when Florida recorded approximately 1.304 million Brazilian visitors, a 10% increase from 2024. Brazil moved ahead of the United Kingdom as Florida’s largest overseas visitor market during the year.

Brazilian travel demand keeps Florida at the centre

For Brazilian travellers, Florida brings together several of the most recognisable holiday experiences in the United States. Miami offers beaches, shopping, restaurants and nightlife, while Orlando provides access to major theme parks and family attractions. Fort Lauderdale adds cruise connections and coastal tourism, while destinations across central and southern Florida provide additional beach, nature and shopping experiences.
VISIT FLORIDA’s visitor research shows that shopping, sightseeing and amusement and theme parks rank among the leading activities for overseas visitors. In 2024, shopping was reported by 88% of overseas visitors, sightseeing by 73% and amusement and theme parks by 49%.
That mix gives travellers the option of combining several destinations in one holiday. A trip can begin in Miami, continue towards Orlando and include coastal stops or a cruise from South Florida.

Air connectivity supports Brazil-Florida travel

Flight connectivity is another important factor behind the strength of the Brazilian market. Between May and October 2026, approximately 643,200 seats were scheduled between Brazil and Florida, according to tourism industry data reported by PANROTAS. Florida was expected to account for 51.3% of all direct seats between Brazil and the United States during that period.
For travellers, this concentration of capacity provides multiple entry points and route choices. Miami International Airport, Orlando International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are among the major gateways used for Florida trips, with schedules varying according to airline, origin city and travel season.
Orlando has also recorded significant Brazilian passenger traffic. Orlando International Airport handled 405,482 passengers from Brazil between January and October 2025, representing a 19% increase from the same period a year earlier.

Miami connects Brazilian travellers with beaches and cruises

Miami remains one of the most important destinations for Brazilian visitors travelling to Florida. The city combines Atlantic beaches with shopping districts, restaurants, cultural attractions and access to cruise terminals.
The wider Miami area also functions as a gateway to South Florida. Visitors can combine a Miami stay with Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach and nearby coastal communities before continuing to Orlando or other parts of the state.
Recent Miami-Dade tourism data shows the importance of international travel to the region. International visitors increased 3% year on year in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 1.701 million, while Brazil remained the leading international source market among the destinations listed in the county’s visitor data, despite a 5% decline compared with 2025.

Orlando remains a major family travel destination

Orlando gives Brazilian families a different travel experience, centred on theme parks, entertainment, shopping and resort accommodation. International visitors can build multi-day itineraries around the city’s major attractions, with many travellers extending their stays to include shopping outlets, dining and nearby destinations.
The combination of direct air access, extensive accommodation and attractions makes Orlando particularly suited to longer family holidays. Travellers can also use Orlando as a base for exploring central Florida before continuing to other destinations.

Florida tourism remains broad in 2026

Brazil is part of a wider international tourism market supporting Florida. VISIT FLORIDA reported 39.88 million visitors during the first quarter of 2026, including 2.29 million overseas visitors, with overseas visitation up 8.5% year on year. Domestic visitors remained the largest component, reaching 36.54 million.
Florida recorded 143.33 million visitors during 2025, including 9.3 million overseas visitors. Brazil accounted for 1.3 million of those international arrivals, making it the state’s largest overseas source market.

Planning a Florida trip from Brazil

Brazilian travellers planning a Florida holiday can structure trips around the destination that best matches their itinerary. Miami suits beach, shopping, dining and cruise-focused holidays, Orlando works particularly well for theme-park and family trips, while Fort Lauderdale provides another major cruise and coastal gateway.
For longer holidays, combining Miami and Orlando allows travellers to experience two of Florida’s most prominent tourism centres in one trip. Adding a cruise, beach stay or shopping excursion can extend the itinerary further.
The 2026 figures show Florida continuing to occupy a central position in Brazilian travel to the United States. With Brazil remaining its largest overseas source market and strong air connectivity linking the two countries, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and other Florida destinations are positioned to remain major stops for Brazilian travellers through the year.
