The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Colombia hosted its first GBTA Business Travel Symposium last month at the Hotel Wyndham Bogotá Art in Bogotá, Colombia with over 90 business travel professionals from Colombia and Peru participating in the event. Attendees were given the opportunity to participate in education sessions and an expanded trade show to build their industry knowledge and gain ideas and insight into trends in corporate travel management as well as meetings management and negotiation.
“In its first official year, the Symposium proved to be a useful education tool for buyers and suppliers alike” said Nelson Triana, President of GBTA Colombia. “Colombia has become a growing market for business travel professionals and this Symposium gave attendees the opportunity to expand their knowledge and networking with other professionals in the industry.”
The GBTA Bogotá Symposium featured well attended sessions with a focus on an inside view of hot topics such as 21st century technology and its impact on corporate travel; creativity, technology and sustainability for successful events; effective corporate contracts and agreements; managing your travel program utilizing on-line & off-line expense reporting; and migration discussions relating to visa, passports and alien certificate issues.
With the success of this initial offering in Bogotá, GBTA looks forward to future events centered in population centers of Colombia, reflecting the growing business travel sector in the region.
