Fiji Airways has officially inaugurated its longest nonstop route, directly connecting Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) in Texas to the tropical paradise of Fiji. Starting today, the airline will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, providing travelers with an unparalleled gateway to the South Pacific.
This groundbreaking route is the only nonstop connection between DFW and Fiji’s enchanting 333 islands, renowned for their unspoiled beaches, turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs, and world-famous Fijian hospitality. Whether you’re planning a tranquil retreat or an adventurous getaway, this new service makes your dream escape more accessible than ever.
Commenting on the launch of the service, Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen said “This new route significantly enhances Fiji Airways’ connectivity in North America, making it easier than ever for Texans and U.S. travelers to explore Fiji’s pristine landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality, while also providing seamless access to the wider South Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand and beyond.”

The inaugural 13-hour flight from Nadi, Fiji, landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on December 10, 2024, at 3:25 PM CST. Marked by a celebratory water cannon salute, the arrival was met with fanfare as excited passengers and VIPs disembarked.
Fiji Airways is utilizing its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 XWB for this route, offering 334 seats, including 33 luxurious lie-flat business class seats, designed for optimal comfort and convenience during the long-haul journey.
“From 10th April 2025, Fiji Airways will offer the quickest option for travelers from Dallas Fort Worth to Cairns Australia; reducing travel time by approximately three hours and making the natural wonder of the Great Barrier Reef more accessible than ever for tourists,’ said Viljoen.
The first-ever departure from DFW to Nadi is scheduled for 9:55 PM CST on December 10, 2024, promising passengers a seamless 13-hour overnight flight. Guests will experience award-winning service and warm Fijian hospitality onboard, arriving in Nadi at 5:20 AM local time on December 12, 2024, ready to begin their island adventure.
This new route adds over 2,000 seats per week to Fiji Airways’ global network, fostering stronger tourism ties between North America and Fiji. It also expands the airline’s North American footprint, joining existing nonstop routes from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver, making this the fifth direct connection between North America and Fiji.
With the launch of this service, Fiji Airways now operates 26 international direct routes. Travelers from DFW can also enjoy faster one-stop access to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef via the airline’s hub in Nadi.
To celebrate the new route, Fiji Airways is offering special roundtrip fares from Dallas Fort Worth to Fiji starting at just $699 per person. These promotional fares are available through December 17, 2024, and can be booked online at Fijiairways.com or via participating travel agents. Additional one-stop fares include flights to Australia starting at $1,179 and New Zealand from $1,079, with seamless connections through Nadi. Terms and conditions apply.
Fiji Airways operates a modern fleet of 21 aircraft and maintains strategic partnerships with major airlines, including American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, and Porter Airlines. These alliances are set to grow with the introduction of the AAdvantage® loyalty program in 2025 and full membership in the oneworld® alliance, effective March 31, 2025.
In addition to the new route, Fiji Airways is unveiling redesigned amenity kits for Business Class passengers on long-haul flights. Created in collaboration with Samsonite and Formia, the kits feature two stylish bag designs in two colorways, inspired by Fijian motifs. Constructed with water-repellent twill fabric and vegan leather accents, the bags are as practical as they are elegant, with one design featuring a luggage strap for added convenience.
The contents include premium travel essentials such as earplugs, breathable socks, a larger eye mask for enhanced sleep quality, a bamboo toothbrush with eco-friendly toothpaste, a kraft and wheat straw pen, and a 10ml body lotion infused with tea extracts from Italian vegan skincare brand Teaology.
