Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism, Miroslav Borshosh, recently engaged in discussions with Sonja Miekley, the Managing Director of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBCIC), to explore ways to enhance Bulgaria’s tourism appeal in Germany, emphasizing the variety of attractions the country offers beyond its well-known seaside destinations. The meeting, as announced by the Tourism Ministry’s press office, took place on Wednesday.
The meeting also included Siika Katsarova, a member of the GBCIC Board of Directors specializing in tourism, and Meglena Plugchieva, who has served as both deputy prime minister and ambassador to Germany. They discussed broadening the appeal of Bulgaria’s tourism offerings in the German market, looking beyond the famed beaches to spotlight opportunities in cultural, historical, health, eco, and sports tourism. The discussions were geared towards fostering partnerships to boost Bulgaria’s image in the German business community.
The GBCIC expressed strong interest in backing efforts to showcase Bulgaria, especially emphasizing the renowned Black Sea and spa resorts that continue to draw German visitors.
