Edge Restaurant at four seasons hotel denver unveils new “crodough” Delicacy

ra..-300x168True foodies likely have the much-talked-about Cronut* on their radar.  A cross between a donut and a croissant, the Cronut has attracted a cult following, with lines often several hours long just to get a taste of the gooey deliciousness.

With such an amazingly talented pastry team in place, Four Seasons Hotel Denver had to take a stab at creating its own version of the treat that has the culinary world abuzz.  After much fun experimenting with croissant and donut recipes, the team at Four Seasons Hotel Denver is proud to give the Mile High City a taste of its own version, dubbed the EDGE CroDough.

The EDGE CroDough is perfect for fall in a delectable pumpkin flavour. Featuring several sweet, flaky layers, it comes with a sugar glaze and a caramel dipping sauce.  Coming soon to the dessert menu at EDGE, the CroDough will sell for USD 10.00, and is large enough for two people to share.

For one day only, EDGE Restaurant is having a CroDough sale for a good cause.  On Wednesday, October 16, 2013, the EDGE CroDoughs will be sold at EDGE Restarant between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for USD 3.00 each, or for USD 5.00 each including a small LavAzza coffee.  October 16 is World Food Day, a day focused on taking action to end world hunger.  All funds from the October 16 CroDough sales at EDGE will be donated to Community Food Share, a food bank serving Boulder and Broomfield counties, which was greatly impacted by the recent Colorado flood.  Funds will be given to assist in replenishing the food bank, which services more than 50 local agency partners.

Guests are encouraged to stop in to EDGE anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on October 16 and purchase a CroDough. As they are made fresh on site, guests should prepare for at least 10 minutes to receive their sweet confection – which will be well worth the wait.  October 16 also happens to be Boss’s Day – so perhaps a CroDough would be a sweet surprise for one’s boss!

“Our Pastry Chef de Partie Christina Hong and our team of talented pastry cooks have spent hours perfecting our version of the Cronut,” says Chris DeChillo, director of food & beverage at Four Seasons Hotel Denver. “We are proud to welcome guests to taste this delicious creation, and also, most importantly, to give back to our community.”
