Da Nang Tourism Reaches New Heights With 13 World Travel Awards 2026 Wins

Da Nang

Da Nang, Hoi An and Ba Na Hills have secured 13 honours at the World Travel Awards 2026 Asia, Oceania and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, giving Vietnam’s central tourism region a broad showing across accommodation, attractions, entertainment and resort categories. The awards included seven Asia-level titles and six Vietnam-level titles.
The ceremony took place on September 27 at CROSSROADS Maldives, coinciding with World Tourism Day. It brought together tourism, aviation, hospitality, resort, travel and attraction businesses from across the region.
For travellers planning a trip to Central Vietnam, the results highlight a destination network that stretches from Da Nang’s coastline and urban hotels to Ba Na Hills, Son Tra Peninsula and nearby Hoi An.

Seven Asia-Level Awards Put Da Nang Experiences in Focus

Sun World Ba Na Hills collected two Asia-level honours, being named Asia’s Leading Theme Park 2026 and Asia’s Leading Cable Car 2026. The attraction gives visitors access to mountain scenery and entertainment facilities through its cable car network.
The resort category also produced several awards. Hoi An Memories Resort & Spa received Asia’s Leading Cultural Resort 2026, while Hoiana Resort & Golf was named Asia’s Leading Fully Integrated Resort 2026.
Shilla Monogram Danang received Asia’s Leading Lifestyle Resort 2026, adding another accommodation category to Da Nang’s regional recognition.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort secured two awards, including Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort 2026 and Asia’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026 for Bai Bac Bay Villa.
Together, the seven Asia-level awards cover theme-park tourism, cable-car experiences, cultural stays, integrated resorts, lifestyle accommodation and luxury travel.

Six Vietnam Titles Add Beach, City and Luxury Stays

The recognition continued across Vietnam-level categories. Four Points by Sheraton Danang was named Vietnam’s Leading Beach Hotel 2026, while voco Ma Belle Danang by IHG received Vietnam’s Leading City Lifestyle Hotel 2026.
Beachfront Villa @ Naman Retreat was recognised as Vietnam’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, and InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort received Vietnam’s Leading Luxury Resort 2026.
In nearby Hoi An, Hotel Royal Hoi An Danang was named Vietnam’s Leading Riverfront Hotel 2026. Sun World Ba Na Hills also received Vietnam’s Leading Theme Park 2026.
The six national awards therefore add beach accommodation, city hotels, luxury villas, resorts, riverfront stays and theme-park experiences to the destination’s tourism portfolio.

Da Nang Connects Beach, Heritage and Mountain Experiences

The award results also provide a useful picture of how travellers can combine different experiences during a Central Vietnam itinerary.
Da Nang offers a coastal setting with city-based accommodation, while Son Tra Peninsula provides access to natural landscapes close to the urban area. Ba Na Hills adds mountain attractions and cable-car travel to the itinerary.
Hoi An brings a different travel experience, with its riverfront setting, cultural attractions and heritage environment. The combination allows visitors to build trips around beaches, resorts, entertainment, culture and nature rather than relying on one type of holiday.
The regional tourism network also extends southward through resort and integrated tourism developments, giving travellers additional accommodation and leisure choices.

World Travel Awards Ceremony Highlights Regional Tourism

The 2026 ceremony in the Maldives formed part of the World Travel Awards programme covering Asia, Oceania and the Indian Ocean. CROSSROADS Maldives hosted the event on September 27, with the venue located around 15 minutes by boat from Velana International Airport in Malé.
World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and recognises destinations, hotels, resorts, airlines, travel operators and tourism attractions across different regional programmes.
Vietnam also received major Asia-level recognition during the 2026 awards, including Asia’s Leading Destination 2026 and Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination 2026.

What the 13 Awards Mean for Travellers

The 13 awards place a wide range of Da Nang-area tourism products in front of an international travel audience. For visitors, that means the destination can be explored through several distinct travel styles within one regional itinerary.
A trip can combine a beach hotel in Da Nang, mountain attractions at Ba Na Hills, a luxury resort stay, a visit to Son Tra Peninsula and a cultural stop in Hoi An.
The awards also underline the geographic spread of tourism products across the destination, from urban and coastal accommodation to mountain entertainment, cultural resorts and luxury properties.
As Central Vietnam continues to attract international travellers, Da Nang’s 13 World Travel Awards 2026 honours add another international reference point for the destination’s hotels, attractions and tourism experiences.
