CCB Attends Incentive Seminars in Indonesia and Taiwan Bringing large incentive tours with large economic impact to Chiba

ccb-300x59Staff from the Chiba Convention Bureau and International Center (CCB-IC) will be promoting Chiba at the “Japan Incentive Travel Seminar 2014″ and “JNTO Japan Incentive Travel Seminar 2014 in Taipei”.


Incentive Travel is the “I” in “MICE”, and is mainly used as a bonus to incentivize sales teams in companies. Since the travel is a reward, it tends to be on the luxurious side and filled with activities, which boosts its impact on the local economy.


Indonesia is a pro-Japan country with a population of 240 million, a ranks second in the world for the number of people who study the Japanese language. The Japanese Government has eased restrictions on travel visas from countries in Southeast Asia in order to increase tourism from the area, and there was a 34.8% increase in the number of tourists between 2012 and 2013. With the number of tourists reaching over 100 thousand for the first time last year, Indonesia is a market with high potential.


Taiwan, on the other hand, ranks second, behind Korea, for the number of incentive tours it sends to Japan. In the Taiwanese market there is a high demand from insurance, financial, and trading institutions, and continued interest in Japan is expected.


In response to these Market Trends, the CCB-IC will be sending 1 staff member to the “Japan Incentive Travel Seminar 2014″, and 2 staff members to the “JNTO Japan Incentive Travel Seminar 2014 in Taipei”.


Chiba Prefecture expands services for Muslim travelers
The number of hotels and other facilities in Chiba Prefecture that cater to halal (allowed or permitted by Islamic Law) are increasing, and in January 2014 the first Halal food processing plant in Japan was built in Chiba City. Chiba Prefecture expanding its support for guests from Southeast Asia.
