Brisbane’s BCEC and The Star unite to create unforgettable event experiences

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) and The Star Brisbane have announced a groundbreaking partnership to create an exceptional delegate experience. The collaboration combines the best of Brisbane to offer one of Australia’s most distinctive event experiences.

Australia is eagerly anticipating the debut of The Star Brisbane and the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, which promise to redefine entertainment with new attractions, top-tier hotels, culinary delights, vibrant bars, and stunning event venues. Set to open in August 2024, this dynamic destination will dazzle Brisbane’s growing meetings and events scene.

BCEC, Brisbane’s premier conference facility, hosts 60% of the city’s visiting conferences annually, attracting 120 such events and numerous delegates. Its location alongside the South Bank precinct, with its charming piazza, lush greenery, tranquil lagoons, and urban nature experiences, will provide visitors and delegates with a blend of amenities.

Covering 12 hectares of riverfront land across from BCEC, The Star Brisbane and Queen’s Wharf will transform into a lively urban hub.This multifaceted precinct will feature purpose-built event spaces, luxurious hotels, a Sky Deck, a Leisure Deck, diverse entertainment and dining options, scenic riverfront parks, historic landmarks, and more.

The precincts will be connected by the Neville Bonner Bridge, offering pedestrians easy access between the South Bank precinct, home to BCEC, and Queen’s Wharf. This innovative link promises new experiences for event organizers and delegates to explore.

“From our seemingly suspended Sky Deck which soars 100 metres above the Brisbane River and spans 250 metres in length, to our expansive open-air Leisure Deck brimming with event and entertainment possibilities, The Star Brisbane provides a wonderland of opportunities for product launches or sunset soirées,” said Mr Dodt.

“It expands the value of the South Bank precinct offering and delivers additional benefits for conference organisers and delegates. We are thrilled to partner with The Star Brisbane to push beyond the physical boundaries of each property and offer more variety than ever before.”

This partnership is set to evolve further, as both BCEC and The Star Brisbane are dedicated to attracting major conferences, especially in key Queensland industries, to Brisbane’s vibrant scene.
