The 4,000m2 state-of-the-art extension to Belfast Waterfront Conference and Exhibition Centre is well underway with steelworks now rising from the ground.
Ambitious plans to double the size of the venue’s event space to almost 7,000m2 are about to become a reality.

Opening in Spring 2016, the development’s large steel structure is soon to become a striking feature of the Belfast landscape.

The city’s flagship project is moving at a fast pace. Demolition work finished pre Christmas and piling works last month, paving the way for the erection of the steel construction.

The main conference and exhibition hall, which has a height of 9 metres, is starting to take shape at the rear of the existing facility.

Over the coming months, it will be possible to get a real sense of scale, as the steel structure for conference and exhibition hall 2, boasting over 700m2 clear span space, plus additional meeting rooms for up to 200 delegates each, and external terraces clearly become visible.

The new structure will stretch across the prime riverside location taking full advantage of the city’s stunning views. The construction will be completed by the end of the year with the venue being fully operational by Spring 2016.
Belfast Waterfront has already made its mark on the world stage, by scoring consistently highly in the AIPC Apex Award for the World’s Best Convention Centre. And an additional 4,000m2 of fully flexible exhibition, banqueting and breakout space, equipped with the latest in event technology, will make this venue a serious contender for the number one position.
