Bangkok, Thailand is preparing for a fresh wave of visitors from the Gulf and beyond as flydubai launches a new double-daily service from Dubai International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport starting 15 September 2026. For travellers, this means more daily options between Dubai and Bangkok, additional connections onward into Thailand, and expanded opportunities to use Dubai as a one-stop hub linking Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to Southeast Asia’s most visited city.
According to the airline’s announcement, flydubai will begin operating double-daily flights from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) in Bangkok on 15 September 2026. The service will use Boeing 737 aircraft and is scheduled to run twice per day in each direction, bringing the carrier’s total operations to Thailand to 28 weekly flights when combined with its existing route to Krabi.
These Bangkok flights form part of flydubai’s wider Southeast Asia network, which is integrated with Emirates through a codeshare partnership, enabling passengers to book seamless itineraries with a single ticket and through-checked baggage across a combined network of more than 240 destinations.
For travellers starting in Dubai, the new double-daily frequency expands choice across different departure times, making it easier to match flights to hotel check-ins, onward domestic flights in Thailand, and connecting services to other regions. With flights operating out of Terminal 3, passengers can connect between flydubai and Emirates services inside the same terminal complex, reducing minimum connection times compared with split-terminal transfers.
For passengers originating in Europe, the Gulf, Africa, or South Asia, Dubai’s role as a transfer hub means they can route into Bangkok via DXB and continue onward to Thai destinations on flydubai or other carriers, adding flexibility to multi-country itineraries. The codeshare structure allows customers to combine segments—for example, flying from a European city to Dubai with Emirates and onward to Bangkok with flydubai on a single booking.
The choice of Don Mueang International Airport positions flydubai within Bangkok’s secondary international gateway, which is a major base for regional and low-cost carriers operating domestic and intra-Asia routes. For visitors, arriving at DMK offers straightforward access to northern and northeastern Thailand flights, as well as connections to beach and island destinations served by domestic airlines.
On the ground, Don Mueang is linked to central Bangkok by taxis, buses and rail options, enabling travellers to reach hotel districts such as Sukhumvit, Silom, Ratchada or the Old City. This set-up is particularly useful for travellers planning to spend time in Bangkok before heading onwards by air or land to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Isan provinces, or onward hubs that serve the islands.
The expanded Dubai–Bangkok schedule adds another layer to Thailand’s air connectivity with the United Arab Emirates, which already includes services from other Gulf carriers. From mid-September 2026, flydubai’s operations will raise capacity between Dubai and Bangkok, reflecting sustained demand across leisure and corporate segments and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a transit point for travellers heading into Thailand.
Bangkok will remain flydubai’s second Thai destination alongside Krabi, and the carrier’s Thailand network is designed to support itineraries that combine city stays with beach holidays, making it easier for visitors from the Gulf and connecting regions to split their time between the capital and coastal provinces.
More capacity on the Dubai–Bangkok route effectively widens the range of tourism itineraries available to travellers in both directions. For visitors from the UAE and connecting markets, Bangkok can serve as a gateway to classic Thai routes that combine the city with northern cultural centres and southern islands reachable from airports such as Krabi, Phuket, Surat Thani and Chiang Mai.
For travellers from Thailand and neighbouring countries flying via Bangkok to Dubai, the new flights offer another option for reaching the Gulf, from where they can continue on to European, African or American destinations within the flydubai–Emirates network. This two-way flow supports both outbound Thai tourism and inbound Thai visits to Dubai and other cities serviced from DXB.
flydubai’s booking channels indicate that flights between Bangkok (DMK) and Dubai (DXB) are available with one-way fares published in Thai baht, alongside return options and fare comparison tools for different months. Online platforms such as Trip.com and regional OTAs also list flydubai’s Dubai–Bangkok flights, showing indicative starting prices and timetable information for travellers comparing routes.
Passengers planning 2026–2027 travel are advised to monitor booking sites and the airline’s official timetable, as schedules and exact departure times can adjust closer to the start date. By aligning their plans with the double-daily pattern—choosing early-morning, daytime or overnight segments—travellers can build Bangkok trips that connect smoothly with hotel check-in windows, internal Thai flights, or onward long-haul services through Dubai.
