Kuoni Group Travel Experts has appointed Aimie Johnson as Business Development Manager for North America’s west coast as its group travel business out of the region rises once again. Based in Denver, Colorado, Aimie will be responsible for developing group travel business for the Kuoni Group Travel Experts and Travel Bound brands.
America will be the best-performing rich-world economy in 2015 with North America as a whole achieving 3.2% growth this year, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit. Outbound travel from the region has grown solidly and North Americans are not only travelling more but also spending more and staying longer, says IPK International’s World Travel Monitor.
Aimie Johnson, Business Development Manager for North America’s west coast, says: “I’m excited to bring my experience of a wide range of destinations and travel expertise to help businesses profit by booking group travel with Kuoni and Travel Bound. As consumer confidence in the region rises thanks to strengthening economic and employment conditions, more and more people will be looking for great travel experiences. When they turn to agents to book their trips, we will be there to help.”
Aimie brings nearly a decade’s sales and marketing experience gained with the Globus family of brands. She has been responsible for developing partnerships with travel companies contributing over $44 million in annual sales. Before this she gained a thorough understanding of US consumer trends with Starz Encore Group, one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the country.
Aimie reports to Tommy Ryder, Head of Sales for Kuoni Group Travel Experts Americas. He says: “I’m very pleased to welcome Aimie to further grow our commercial success in North America. Given the importance of the US and Canada to Kuoni’s ambitious growth plans, she will be invaluable in reminding the region’s travel trade of the quality of our itineraries and our competitive prices.”
The world‘s leading group travel provider, Kuoni Group Travel Experts offer a wealth of destination knowledge. They create itineraries that capture the attention of inexperienced travelers with the best access to attractions that never go out of fashion. Italy is the most popular destination for North America’s group travelers and enjoyed double digit increases last year. Spain comes second for Canadians but France is second for Americans. America’s top ten consists entirely of European destinations, while Canada’s includes the USA; making it their fourth most popular destination for group tours.
