The 2024 edition of the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) is gearing up to be the most significant in a decade, providing an unparalleled opportunity for professionals inthe business events sector to network and cooperate.Taking place in February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Australia, AIME 2024 is set to host an impressive lineup of over 600 buyers from around the world, accompanied by 3,500 visiting buyers and 570 exhibitors representing diverse sectors of the business events industry. This represents a remarkable 63% increase in exhibitors from the previous year, reinforcing AIME’s position as the premier event in the Asia-Pacific region for the international business events community.

For the first time since the Covid pandemic, AIME 2024 will feature participation from international destinations such as Fiji, Korea, Macau, USA, Canada, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, India, the Maldives, Italy, Malta, Norway, Monaco, and the UK/Ireland. These new additions join returning countries including Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Africa, bringing the total number of countries represented at the event to 33.

Silke Calder, AIME Event Director, commented on the event’s significant growth and its pivotal role in the global business events calendar. “Following our incredible 30th anniversary AIME in 2023, we are returning this year even bigger and better than ever,” Calder stated, highlighting the excitement surrounding the event’s ability to unite the business events community in Melbourne.

AIME 2024 will introduce a unique feature: a dedicated zone for boutique experience creators, presenting more than 20 operators offering tailored and highly customizable experiences. Additionally, the new DMC Network zone will bring together Destination Management Companies from around the world, reflecting the post-Covid resurgence in travel. The hotel zone has also expanded, now being 50% larger than in 2023.

The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) 2024 will commence with a Knowledge Program themed “The 4Ps of GLOCALISATION”, featuring keynote speakers Lisa Ronson and Sebastian Terry. This program aims to blend global insights with local nuances, meeting the desire of the AIME global community for a symbiotic relationship between the two.

With the Melbourne Convention Bureau leading the way, AIME 2024 is not just an event but a cornerstone in the business events industry’s calendar, comparable to the significance of the Australian Open in tennis. As the first international trade show of the business events sector in 2024, AIME 2024 is poised to set the tone for the year, highlighting Melbourne’s status as Australia’sevents hub and promoting networking and knowledge exchange among industry experts.
