A proposal has been floated for the expansion of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) by Tourism Council WA (TCWA) to enable the venue to host bigger events or two major conferences simultaneously.
The PCEC proposal is the second of three “missing pieces” that TCWA believes will help to attract visitors to Perth and drive demand for new infrastructure developments.
The first idea was a cable car between Elizabeth Quay and Kings Park.
Based on the new report, called Missing Pieces: PCEC Expansion, TCWA claims that increasing the venue’s capacity so it can host larger business events, exhibition spaces or two large events at the same time will bring more than 22,000 new delegates to the city.
