San Diego Convention Center Issues RFQ for General Counsel

SDCCCThe San Diego Convention Center Corporation seeks a qualified and reputable law firm or individual attorney to act as its General Counsel.  The General Counsel attends all meetings of the Corporation’s Board of Directors and serves as legal advisor to the board and to senior management on a wide range of legal matters related to the Corporation’s business affairs, including new business endeavors, corporate organization and governance, state and federal regulatory issues, and public entity laws, rules and regulations.

 

The General Counsel must have broad general expertise and experience in corporate business and contract law, and in public entity, state and local laws regulating meetings of public agencies. When requested, the General Counsel shall lead, participate in and/or manage dispute resolution or litigation.

 

In addition, other services required include but are not limited to:

 

 

The General Counsel will report to, take direction from, and meet as required with the Corporation’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Board Chair, Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

 

It is the intent of The Corporation to enter into a contract with the chosen General Counsel for an initial term of two years, commencing early 2016 to be agreed upon by the parties, with the option to renew for an additional two- year terms by mutual agreement.
