iccaThe Borneo Orang-Utan Project (BOP) will be hitting the shores of Shanghai for the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings (IT&CM) China from the 6th – 8th April 2016.

BOP, the official corporate social responsibility programme of ICCA Congress 2016, invites all ICCA members to generate awareness on the plight of the Borneo Orang-Utans by participating in this highly distinguished initiative by the Local Host of ICCA Congress 2016 – Malaysia and ICCA.

Following from the successful launches of BOP at the International Business and Tourism Management (IBTM) Barcelona 2015 and the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) in Australia 2016, this third installment will see one lucky ICCA member win the opportunity of lifetime to adopt a precious baby girl orang-utan named Ting San for a year.

Baby Ting San is extremely dependent on humans at first, but being a tough little girl with a resilient nature, she is currently in her final stage of jungle training and will soon be released back into the rainforest. All that stands between her and her true home is a guardian.

Currently, Ting San is being cared for at the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, approximately 24km from Kuching, Borneo. This world-renowned facility, located by a nature reserve, is also a research centre for orang-utans and has successfully rehabilitated and reintroduced many of these primates back to the forest.

To assist Ting San in getting home, visit them at the Malaysia Booth B11 to snap a photo with “Brooke” – the official ICCA 2016 mascot and share it on social media with the hashtag “#RoadtoSarawak” “#ITCMChina” and “#ICCAWorld”.

The announcement of the winner will be made by ICCA in the week after IT&CM China. ICCA will adopt Ting San on behalf a chosen member upon the announcement.
